Painting holidays

Our 7 night or 4 night weekend painting holidays are held in the traditional Savoyard town of La Clusaz which nestles in the stunning Aravis mountains - part of the northern French Alp. Famous for incredible scenery and mountain lakes this picturesque corner of France is straight out of the Sound of Music. Colourful fragrant field of flowers dominate the landscape in spring and early summer, whilst the superb russets of the autumn colour the valleys in September and October.

Our art holidays are based at the traditional wooden Chalet Fan la Bise or Chalet Pre-Fleuri. Holidays include accommodation, airport transfers to/from Geneva, all your transport to and from painting/sketching sites, breakfasts, packed lunches and delicious 2 course evening meals with a choice of wines. Accommodation can be on a sole occupancy or shared basis depending on your preference and budget.

It is our hope that our art weekend guests will enjoy a creative and relaxing time in this amazing are of France, having spent time with like minded people, and returning home with wonderful memories and paintings to cherish. During the weekend guest will learn Watercolour techniques, Colour theory and practice, Composition and much more.

Our relaxing informal watercolour are run by a number of well known artists, Sonia Hawes, Bee Morrison, Diane King, Sue Ford, Lionel Playford and Joanne Boon Thomas.

All our artists are very experienced, successful tutors with an individual painting style and teaching method. They all run tutorial groups, courses and holidays in the UK, Spain, Corsica, Greece and Malta, they know what makes a good painting holiday. Our tutors all bring something special to their courses, whilst encouraging and nuturing their student in a fun, friendly, easy going atmosphere, perfect for a enjoyable and instructive weekend away.

Our painting weekends run from Thursday to Monday, and our 7 night holidays are Thursday to Thursday.

• THURSDAY - our private minibus transfers you to the chalet, to sttle in and enjoy a lovely dinner with wine.
• FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY - after breakfast it's off to the painting site/s in the minibus with your tutor, for a full day of tuition. In the afternoon it's back to the chalet for a cup of tea, and home-cooked evening meal with wine.
• MONDAY - after breakfast, it's a day off to explore la Clusaz, with evening dinner in the town for those on a weekly stay, or a trip to the airport for your return flight for weekenders!
• TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY - for those staying on for a full week, after breakfast it's off to diffrent painting/sketching sites with your tutor, for a full day of tuition. Returning in the late afternoon for a delicious home-cooked evening meal with wine in the evening.
• THURSDAY - After breakfast and packing, it's off to the airport for your flight home!

As always everyone is free to dip in and out of the programme to suit their mood. 

Weekends include 3 days private tuition from one of our artists in residence, x3 days off-site sketching/painting (with private chauffeured transport), accommodation at Chalet Fan La Bise, private airport transfers to/from Geneva, x4 breakfasts, x4 evening meals with wine, x3 packed lunches.

Painting weeks include 7 nights Thursday to Thursday accommodation at Chalet Fan La Bise (or chalet Pre-Fleuri for large groups), x5 days private tuition from one of our art tutors, (with private transport included for off-site sketching/painting days), private airport transfers to/from Geneva airport, x7 breakfasts, x6 evening meals with wine, x5 packed lunches.
